The final season of Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan has dropped its first two episodes on Prime Video, and Shadow and Act spoke with stars John Krasinski, Wendell Pierce and Michael Kelly about what fans can expect from the rest of the season.
Krasinski, who plays the title role, said it’s “completely bittersweet” to be embarking on the final season.
“This has been truly a thrill of a lifetime….This was my favorite character growing up, both in the movies and in the books,” he said. “To have even gotten a chance to play it, it’s too good to be true, and you actually get to the making of it, and you realize how rare it is, to not only be a part of something this big and this epic…but to do it with such incredibly talented people.”
“We have the most amazing crew, the most amazing writers, and then I got a front-row seat to two of the best performances I’ve ever seen, let alone be a part of,” Krasinski continued, referencing both Kelly and Pierce. “I was definitely just fanning out most days on set with these guys.”
Pierce, who plays James Greer, said that he had a “profound sense of gratitude and profound sense of accomplishment” regarding the work he and the cast and crew have done for this season.
“The quality of work is high level–production design, the cinematography, the direction, and of course, the acting was great and the writing was great,” he said. “It is a rare thing when you get all of those elements that come together to do something as special [as] this.”
Kelly, who plays Mike November, added that fans will be treated to high-value production and writing comparable to any blockbuster film.
“Season after season we’ve been able to put some seriously badass content that’s action-packed but also thought-provoking. It has everything,” said Kelly. “I think we were able to pull that off…It really played like a movie. It played like a $100-$150 million movie. It looks incredible…The fans are in for a real fun ride this year.”
Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan drops two episodes each Friday until July 14. The series also stars Betty Gabriel, Abbie Cornish, Michael Peña and Louis Ozawa.
