Culture Creators Brunch Brings Out Black Hollywood As Netflix Teases Summer Titles – Shadow and Act

At the Culture Creators Brunch, a BET Awards weekend staple, Netflix dropped a new sizzle showcasing current and future Black titles on the streamer.

This year’s BET Awards coincided with the 50th anniversary of hip-hop, and Netflix and Culture Creators honored MC Lyte with the “Strong Black Lead Icon Award.”

Others Culture Creators Innovators & Leaders honorees included Busta Rhymes as an ICON awardee and Chloe x Halle, who will receive the Innovators of the Year Award. Additional honorees include Troy Carter in technology, Karl Kani in fashion, Candace Rodney in business, Flau’jae Johnson in Sports, Laurieann Gibson in art/dance, Chris Robinson in video/film and Stephen Hill in television.

Attendees at the event included Keith Powers, Stephen “Dr.” Love, Teyonah Parris, Tasha Smith, TS Madison, Jacob Gibson and more.

The sizzle reel showcases its new and upcoming titles, including They Cloned Tyrone, The Perfect Find, Survival of the Thickest, My Name is Monique, The Light We Carry, Rustin, Quarterback, 85 South Show: Ghetto Legends, Love is Blind, Supacell, My Dad the Bounty Hunter, Ladies First: A Story of Women in Hip-Hop, The Upshaws Pt. 4 High on the Hog, You People Luther: The Fallen Sun, The Ultimatum: Queer Love and Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story.
