Method Man is giving audiences the reason why his rap partner Redman didn’t appear in the most recent season of Power Book II: Ghost. According to Method Man, it all came down to the COVID-19 vaccine.
Hollywood Unlocked reported that Method Man appeared on The Breakfast Club and said that Redman didn’t reprise his role of Theo Rollins because of a rumor he heard that Redman didn’t want to take the vaccine. As he said, “You really want to know why? He wouldn’t get the jab. At least that’s what I heard. Did I talk to Redman about it? No…S–t like that don’t even need to be said. He’s not the first or the last person that’ll probably happen to.”
The character died in the series, but not before the role was taken over by another actor, Jordan Mahon.
Back in 2021, when Redman was cast, people were excited to see him play Rollins, the brother of Method Man’s character Davis MacLean. The two characters were described as being on “opposite sides of the law” with Theo’s story in the series starting with him in prison and Davis serving as New York City’s most popular defense attorney.
Power Book II: Ghost has been renewed for a fourth season, with Michael Ealy set to join as a series regular. Ealy will play rising police officer Det. Don Carter. Carter was on the road to becoming Police Commissioner until his wife was killed in the crossfire of rival drug gangs. Carter now leads an elite drug task force to take down the forces that led to his wife’s death.
