“In this last season I was hitting a block, I was like, ‘Oh I’m not doing it right,'” he shared. “I went in the corner and then I was looking at the wall, and I was like, ‘Come on Devil, come on Devil. Come to me, come to me. I had to do something, like, crazy. [I] had nightmares for a month. … I had nightmares every day. I just felt that energy, and I had to pray and do all of this stuff to get rid of it. You know, you call your mum up, and you’re like, ‘Bring me back to life.’ That stuff is real, that stuff is really is real.”

Damson mesmerized audiences with his portrayal of Franklin Saint, a drug kingpin immersed in the seedy underbelly of South Central Los Angeles, in the acclaimed FX crime drama “Snowfall.” As the sixth and final season unfolded, Franklin’s character embarked on a treacherous descent, spiraling deeper into the shadows of the criminal underworld he once ruled, captivating viewers with his tragic downfall.
Michael B. Jordan shared similar sentiments to Damson, acknowledging how the demands of acting can often have an impact on one’s personal life.
During a revealing conversation with Oprah in a “SuperSoul Conversations” special, MBJ opened up about his intense preparation for the role of Killmonger in Black Panther and the toll it took on his mental well-being. Immersing himself fully in the character’s world, MBJ deliberately isolated himself from loved ones to experience the same profound loneliness. However, when filming concluded, he found it challenging to readjust to a life filled with care and affection.
”I didn’t have an escape plan. It was a little tough for me at first,” the Black Panther star said about getting out of the mindset of his character. “Readjusting to people caring about me, getting that love that I shut out,” he continued. “I shut out love, I didn’t want love. I wanted to be in this lonely place as long as I could.”
Recognizing the need for healing, he sought therapy and began opening up, slowly unpacking the emotional weight he had carried.
