*Nick Cannon says Kanye West is in desperate need of help.
Speaking to Los Angeles Times, Cannon reflected on the fallout in 2020 when he referred to White and Jewish people as “the true savages” during his interview with Professor Griff on an episode of his podcast. He also touched on Ye’s anti-Semitic rants last year and suggested the rapper needs more love and support from the public.
“Kanye is saying some wild s**t, and I don’t know if he really believes it,” he said.
“I tried to talk to him. I tried to put him with leaders in the Jewish community. I think it’s a lot more there. I just know he’s in desperate need of help and love and people to not abandon him,” Cannon continued.
Last year, Ye went on a rant against the alleged Jewish control of Hollywood. His controversial commentary resulted in the hip-hop artist losing lucrative brand and endorsement deals. Adidas and Ye’s long-term partnership also broke down as a result.
In March, West claimed Jonah Hill’s acting in “21 Jump Street” changed his mind about the Jewish community.
“Watching Jonah Hill in 21 Jump street made me like Jewish people again,” the rapper wrote on Instagram alongside a poster for the 2012 film, Page Six reports.
“No one should take anger against one or two individuals and transform that into hatred towards millions of innocent people,” Ye added.
“No Christian can be labeled antisemite knowing Jesus is Jew,” he continued, adding, “Thank you Jonah Hill I love you.”
Meanwhile, Cannon doesn’t want to see Hollywood react to Ye in the same way the Nets treated Kyrie Irving.
“You’re going to hang me out in front of everybody and whip me in public — buck-breaking me so all the others know not to do this? That’s a bigger sin and travesty than someone saying something,” Cannon told the LA Times.
