*Marshawn Lynch is facing multiple charges, including DUI, following his arrest last August, after a traffic stop in Las Vegas.
Prosecutors suspect Lynch had a blood alcohol level more than twice the legal limit after his arrest, according to documents regarding his arrest, 8 News Now reports. Police found Lynch, 37, sleeping at the wheel but according to Nevada law, a person in the driver’s seat of a vehicle is “in physical control.”
We reported earlier that Lynch’s arrest occurred at Fairfield Avenue and West Utah Avenue, according to Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD). Sources tell TMZ Sports that the former Seahawks player was driving into curbs on the side of the road before the traffic stop. Lynch’s car had one tire missing, and at least one other flattened, per the report.

According to the court documents obtained by 8 News Now, Lynch’s blood alcohol level was 0.18. Lawyers for the ex-NFLer argue that the case doesn’t constitute a DUI.
“While [the officer] claims to have ‘observed [sic] a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from the vehicle, his person, and his breath,’ no evidence proves that Mr. Lynch drank anything or actually operated the vehicle on the night of the encounter,” documents said, via 8 News Now.
“There was no evidence that the defendant consumed any alcohol after driving to the location he was found,” city attorneys said in court documents, according to 8 News Now. “The defendant was behind the wheel of a damaged vehicle that had left pieces along the roadway and damaged the city’s roadway and curbs. The defendant had the keys to the vehicle that starts by pressing a button, in his pocket.”
Lynch is facing multiple charges, which include suspicion of DUI, failing or refusing to surrender proof of security, unregistered vehicle, and failure to drive in the travel lane, according to USA Today, citing jail records.
