Noah’s Arc creator Patrik-Ian Polk has confirmed that the groundbreaking series Noah’s Arc is making a comeback.
The show was a major hit in the mid-2000s and Logo drama made strides for Black gay representation on television.
The series followed a screenwriter named Noah as he and his friends, living as Black gay men In Los Angeles. It was history-making as the first American drama series to have a group of Black gay men as its focus.
Aside from its central premise, the show covered taboo topics like HIV/AIDS awareness, homophobia and same-sex marriages. Although the show was a hit among viewers, it was canceled in 2006.
Over the last few years, fans have called for the return of the show, and now, news has come straight from the key auspices behind the project.
According to Gaye Magazine, Polk confirmed the return of the show while attending Speak Out’s I AM Awards. While accepting his lifetime achievement award he said: “I’m very happy to confirm that there is indeed more Noah’s Arc coming.”
The awards also featured a reunion of the cast, including Darryl Stephens, Jensen Atwood, Christian Vincent and Rodney Chester.
In a post on Instagram, star Stephens also noted: “You’re about to be sick of us. #Noah’s Arc is coming back.”
Specifics about the show’s return, including if a network is attached, are unknown right now.
Polk was recently a writer on Starz’s P-Valley.
