Hurts So Good: Jalen Hurts Takes Flight With Eagles After Signing Historic $255M Contract, Becomes Highest-Paid Player In NFL History

Jalen Hurts is receiving all of the Brotherly Love as the Philadelphia Eagles and the talented quarterback have reportedly agreed on a five-year, $255 million deal! He is now the highest-paid player in NFL history. Details inside…

The Philadelphia Eagles have committed to another Super Bowl run (and more to come)!

The Eagles just gave their star quarterback Jalen Hurts a massive contract extension, and it’s a real game-changer. According to multiple reports, the deal is worth a jaw-dropping $255 million for five years, making Hurts the highest-paid player in NFL history with a mind-boggling average of $51 million per year. Sheesh!

But wait, there’s more! The deal also includes a whopping $179.3 million in guarantees, including $110 million fully guaranteed at signing and $126.5 million fully guaranteed by March 2024, as well as the first no-trade clause in Eagles history. It’s clear, Philly wants the 24-year-old football star to stay and bring home a championship ring.

The Eagles quarterback is eligible for an additional $15 million in incentives, allowing him to earn up to $274.304 million through 2028, including $4.304 million that he would’ve been due in the final year of his original rookie contract this season.

Hurts will earn $64 million through the first new year in 2024 after receiving a raise in 2023, including a $23.294 million signing bonus. The Eagles have him under contract for the next six years, on a deal that allows them to keep the team together around him.

And guess what?

Nicole Lynn, Hurts’ agent, negotiated the deal, which is believed to be the largest contract ever completed by a female agent! Yassss! #BlackGirlMagic.

Hurts’ new contract includes a total guarantee of $179.304 million, which is the second-largest in NFL history, trailing only Deshaun Watson’s five-year, $230 million fully guaranteed deal with the Browns last year.

Only Watson and Denver quarterback Russell Wilson had more money fully guaranteed at the time of their contracts than Hurts’ $110 million. The total amount is only second in NFL history to Patrick Mahomes’ 10-year, $450 million extension with the Chiefs in 2020.

We’re sure Jalen is going to turn up with his girlfriend, Bryonna Burrows, and family after landing this historic deal!

On the magazine front…

The handsome NFL QB landed the cover of ESSENCE magazine’s May/June 2023 issue. Yes, LAWD!
