*Season 2 of the hit “Single Drunk Female” series has kicked off on Freeform — with the entire 10-episode second season also available on Hulu and OnDemand.
Created by Simone Finch, “Single Drunk Female” stars Sofia Black-D’Elia as Samantha Fink, a young woman struggling to maintain sobriety. Per Freeform’s synopsis of the new episodes: “Season two builds on this layered, character-driven story about starting over and dealing with the discomfort of finding yourself through the chaos. Through humor and the mayhem that is life – Sam must figure out how to effect change where she can, sit in her discomfort when she can’t, and maybe even enjoy the ride.”
“With a year and a half of sobriety under her belt,” the synopsis continues, “Samantha Fink finally feels like she has a life worth celebrating. However, Sam quickly learns that sometimes life has other plans for her. Sam must figure out how to effect change where she can, sit in her discomfort when she can’t, and maybe even enjoy the ride.”
“Single Drunk Female” also stars Ally Sheedy, Sasha Compere, Lily Mae Harrington, Garrick Bernard, and Ian Gomez.

Per the network’s news release, also in season two, Busy Phillips (“Cougar Town”) and Ricky Velez (“The King of Staten Island”) recur as new people in Sam’s life, and Charlie Hall (“The Sex Lives of College Girls”) returns as Sam’s ex Joel. Molly Ringwald also guest stars as Carol’s sister-in-law Alice.
Sheedy — who plays Sam’s mother — spoke to ABC Audio recently about reuniting with Ringwald on this second season of the show. The pair starred together in one of my all-time favorite movies, “The Breakfast Club.”
“I love Molly. We have an unspoken language, unspoken communication. There’s things I just don’t have to put into words with Molly. We work together in a kind of seamless way,” Sheedy told the outlet, Popculture.com reports.
She added, “I feel really safe with Molly. I trust her and she trusts me, so we can go at each other a little bit, if you know what I mean. There’s just all the history. It was so much fun to be with her.”
“Single Drunk Female” premiered on April 12 with new episodes dropping weekly on Wednesdays. All Seasons 1 and 2 episodes are currently available to stream on Hulu.
We spoke to series stars Sasha Compere, Lily Mae Harrington, and Garrick Bernard about their characters’ journey this season and what the response has been to the show exploring the various facets of addiction. Check out what they had to say in the clip below.
