Flo Rida, the Grammy-nominated rapper known for hit songs such as “Low” and “Right Round,” is making headlines as his 6-year-old son, Zohar Dillard, is currently in intensive care with serious injuries after falling from the fifth-floor window of an apartment in New Jersey. Zohar’s mother, Alexis Adams, has filed a civil lawsuit claiming negligence on the part of the building’s owners, managers, construction company, and window installer.

The incident reportedly occurred on March 4th, and Zohar sustained serious fractures in his pelvis and left foot, a lacerated liver, collapsed lungs, and internal bleeding. Poor baby.
Alexis has claimed that the Jersey City building installed windows with “incorrect sized guards,” posing “a hazardous condition” that caused Zohar, who was born with a rare neurological disorder, to fall “to the concrete pavement below.” The lawsuit names the apartment complex’s owners and managers, a construction company, a window installer, and others as defendants.
”As a single mom to a special-needs child, this feels like a nightmare. My heart is broken into a million pieces,” Adams said in a statement to News12 New Jersey. “I am devastated, angry and struggling to come to terms with the fact that my only child has suffered severe injuries due to willful negligence of our landlord and others involved in failing to take necessary safety measures.”
Alexis is seeking damages, attorney’s fees, and payment of Zohar’s medical bills. Flo Rida, whose real name is Tramar Lacel Dillard, has not publicly addressed the accident, and neither his attorney nor his managers have responded to requests for comment from Page Six.
In 2018, Alexis claimed to the Daily Mail that the 43-year-old Grammy winner has had no involvement in Zohar’s life. Apparently, he didn’t want Alexis to have the child.
”Flo Rida has only seen his son once during the paternity test [in December 2016] but kept his shades on and his back turned,” she said. “They were in the same room. He didn’t try to hug Zohar, nothing. It was very cold.”
Since his birth in September 2016, Zohar has struggled with hydrocephalus, a condition that causes an abnormal accumulation of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) within cavities of the brain called ventricles, resulting in pressure on the brain, according to the Hydrocephalus Association.
The disease can cause nausea, vomiting, distorted vision, and hearing, along with an enlarged head. There is no known cure for the condition, which affects over 1 million Americans.
Following his diagnosis, the child had to go through a necessary surgery. Even then, Flo Rida still did not care to check up on his son.
”Even after Zohar’s surgery, he hasn’t reached out to find out if he’s okay,” Alexis claimed. “I find it strange because Flo Rida is always involved in charities pertaining to kids. Being a single mom going to a lot of doctor’s appointments and not knowing what else your son might need is heartbreaking.”

Akexis sued Flo Rida for child support in 2017. In January 2023, she made claims that he owed her over $200,000.
Earlier this year, Flo Rida won a lawsuit for $82.6 million against energy drink company Celsius Holdings Inc. The lawsuit was unrelated to the incident involving his son and involved a breach of contract.
According to reports, the entertainer, who has previously been romantically linked to singer Brandy and “ANTM” Eva Marcille, said he plans to donate some of the money to fund his youth football league and other organizations.
“I’m so happy about the philanthropic things I can do. I have my Big Dreams For Kids charity. I have a youth football league with over 10,000 kids […] Those are the things I’m excited about,” he said.
Interesting he’s donating money to youth organizations and isn’t involved in his young son’s life.
Sending prayers that this baby pulls through!
