Eva Marcille, the model, actress, and television personality best known for her appearances on “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” and “America’s Next Top Model,” has reportedly filed for divorce from her husband Michael Sterling, an experienced trial lawyer, former Assistant United States Attorney, and former senior advisor to the Mayor of Atlanta, after almost five years of marriage.
The couple tied the knot in October 2018 and share three children who are all under the age of 10. In the divorce documents filed in Georgia, Eva, 38, has asked for legal and primary physical custody of the children and for Michael, 41, to contribute towards their medical, dental, and hospitalization expenses. She also requested that he pay her legal bills in the case.
The “All The Queen’s Men” star has not cited any specific reasons for the divorce other than the marriage being irretrievably broken with no chance of reconciliation.
The “America’s Next Top Model” alum has also requested an equitable split of all assets acquired during the marriage as well as any debts. Eva believes that she is the “fit and proper” caregiver for their children and should be the parent who has the final say on all decisions related to them.
The couple shares three minor children; Michael Sterling Jr., Maverick Sterling, and Marley Rae Sterling. Eva had Marley with her ex Kevin McCall, but her husband had raised her as his own. In 2019, she legally changed Marley’s last name from McCall to Sterling. Find out her reason HERE.
Eva and Michael have not publicly shown any signs of trouble in their marriage, and the model has even praised her now-estranged husband on camera. Six weeks ago, Eva posted a photo on her Instagram account on Valentine’s Day of the couple posing together, with the caption: “Happy Valentine’s Day forever and ever @miketsterling #US.”
Michael shared his own tribute to Eva on Instagram, calling her his “forever valentine.”
However, it seems that things have changed, and Eva has made the decision to move forward with a divorce.
