*Janine Nabers, co-creator of the new Prime Video thriller series “Swarm,” says Beyoncé is definitely aware of the show that is loosely inspired by the singer and her loyal fanbase known as the BeyHive.
Nabers tells EW in a new interview that she sent Mrs. Carter a personalized letter about the show.
Many of the plot details were “cleared legally” because “Swarm” is “not a work of fiction,” according to Nabers.
“The legal stuff we did was very calculated, purposeful, and thoughtful,” Nabers said. “If it happens, you can write about it. When things happen out in the world and you’re a public person — legally, we’re not lying.”

Nabers and “Swarm” co-creator Donald Glover recreated some of Beyonce’s headline-grabbing moments, including the infamous elevator scandal with her husband JAY-Z and younger sister Solange.
Nabers thinks Queen Bey has seen the series, saying, “She knows about the show.”
“I wrote her a letter basically being like, ‘Yo, you’re great. I love you. This is a show that we’re working on. These are the people that are writing on it,’” Nabers recalled. “She’s worked with a lot of the people who have worked on our show. It’s a family.”
Nabers added, “This is not a crusade to tear down anyone’s reputation. I know it’s extreme, and I know that our character is doing a lot of crazy shit, but this is a love letter to Black women.”
Per the official synopsis: “Swarm, set between 2016-2018, follows Dre (Fishback), an obsessed fan of the world’s biggest pop star who sets off on an unexpected cross-country journey. Dre’s obsession with a popular musician has her committing obscene acts, but how far will her infatuation take her?”
Nabers previously said that this series is not specifically targeting the Beyhive.
“It’s really just allowing people to see themselves in the madness of Dre because we took real events and put a person in the middle of it,” she said, the Los Angeles Times reports.
