*Amanda Seales — comedian, creative visionary, actress, writer, producer, social justice advocate — recently teamed up with One Love Travel Club to take a trip to Kenya, where she sponsored more than 20 students to attend high school.
Seales toured Britons Primary School on the weeklong trip and learned that although many Kenyan students successfully test into high school, most are unable to attend due to financial burden. Seales sponsored four years of schooling for 28 students — changing the lives of these youth forever, making a difference to help make education accessible.
“As a lifelong believer that education is the key to liberation, it was no more apparent than in visiting this school. When the teachers expressed to us how impactful not only to the children but to the entire community, it would be for the students to afford to attend high school — I considered it an honor to be able to make that happen. I have been incredibly fortunate to build a career based on my art and academic area of study. I consider it my obligation to, in turn, use the benefits of that to help others be able to do the same,” Seales shared.
