*NFL coaching positions are coveted spots. Being a coach on a winning team should positively affect one’s career.
After all, in professional sports it’s winning that matters, right? But if you’re a Black man there’s more to the equation. If you’re a White man there might not be an equation.
After the team’s second Super Bowl win in four years, Kansas City Chief’s head coach, Andy Reid, was quick to name Eric Bieniemy as a key reason for the success of the team’s offense and the win. Bieniemy, the team’s offensive coordinator, is Black.
Yet, Reid didn’t hesitate to hire his son to the coaching staff back in 2020 despite his lack of experience and his criminal background. That White privilege nepotism ended badly. It’s just another example that nothing has changed except the date on the calendar. Click the video above for more details.
