It was announced Tuesday that the hit series Atlanta, created by actor Donald Glover, has been renewed for a fourth season by FX.
What We Know:
- Production for the fourth season (and the previously announced third season) will begin in the spring, with each season having eight episodes each.
- The premise of the show is Donald Glover and Brian Tyree Henry as cousins trying to make it in Atlanta’s music scene, with Zazie Beats starring as Glover’s love interest and Lakeith Stanfield as his best friend.
- FX Entertainment Chief Eric Schrier commented on the renewal. “What more can be said about Atlanta than the critical acclaim and accolades that Donald, Paul, Dianne, Stephen and Hiro have earned for two exceptional seasons of what is clearly one of the best shows on television…This group of collaborators and cast have created one of the most original, innovative stories of this generation and we are proud to be their partners.”
- Atlanta managed to rack up two Golden Globes and five Primetime Emmy Awards in its first two seasons as well as numerous other accolades and nominations.
