‘Reboot’ Canceled After One Season At Hulu – Shadow and Act

Hulu is canceling Reboot after one season.

The comedy series debuted fall 2022 and was seemingly well-liked by viewers and critics. But Hulu decided to axe the referential series about Hulu itself deciding to reboot the fictional 2000s sitcom Step Right Up. The cast included Keegan-Michael Key, Rachel Bloom, Johnny Knoxville, Judy Greer, Calum Worthy, Alyah Chanelle Scott, Krista Marie Yu and Paul Reiser.

Steve Levitan, the creator of Reboot and the person behind hit sitcom Modern Family, is said to try to shop the show around to other places, so fans of the series can take a little comfort in that its cancellation doesn’t mean it is permanently gone. At least not yet.

Key has been starring in popular sitcoms that have fan support, like Apple TV+’s Schmigadoon!. But like with Schmigadoon!, the series are often short-lived, despite the cult following. Key can currently be heard in Netflix stop-motion animated horror-comedy Wendell & Wild, teaming up with his Key & Peele partner Jordan Peele, and as villainous fox Honest John in the recent Disney Pinocchio remake. He also voices characters in Disney+ hybrid film Chip ‘N Dale: Rescue Rangers. Key’s next film role is in the upcoming Wonka prequel starring Timothée Chalamet.
