4.8 magnitude earthquare confirmed in NJ, felt across Tri-state

LEBANON, N.J. — Residents across the Tri-State reported feeling shaking as an earthquake rocked the region Friday morning.

The U.S. Geological Survey confirmed a magnitude 4.8 earthquake occurred near Whitehouse Station, New Jersey.

New York City just felt the impacts of a 4.8 magnitude earthquake with an epicenter of Lebanon, New Jersey. @NYCMayor is being briefed. While we do not have any reports of major impacts at this time, we’re still assessing the impact.

Authorities have asked residents to remain indoors. Authorities have urged residents to only call 911 for serious injuries or emergencies.
