*Tracy Morgan has clarified his previous statement about gaining 40 pounds while using the popular prescription drug Ozempic.
During the March 19 episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Fallon complimented Morgan’s appearance and inquired about his fitness regimen.
Morgan replied, “Well, that’s Ozempic.” He added. “But I’ve learned to out-eat Ozempic. I gained 40 pounds. I’m like Magic Johnson, I gained 40 pounds.”
Many celebrities have endorsed Ozempic as a must-have weight loss medication. Morgan recently told E! News that his previous remarks about the drug “was just a joke.”
“Ozempic did great by me and I was glad to use it,” he told the entertainment news outlet, The Jasmine Brand reports.
Morgan said he takes Ozempic “every Thursday,” adding, “Now I only eat half a bag of Doritos.”
Per Healthline, “Ozempic (semaglutide) is a prescription drug that’s used in people with type 2 diabetes. Ozempic is given as an injection under your skin. Ozempic can be prescribed to adults with type 2 diabetes.”
In December, Oprah acknowledged using weight loss medication and stepped down from the WeightWatchers board to avoid a conflict of interest.
“I now use it as I feel I need it, as a tool to manage not yo-yoing,” she said without revealing the specific drug she takes, PEOPLE reported.
“The fact that there’s a medically approved prescription for managing weight and staying healthier, in my lifetime, feels like relief, like redemption, like a gift, and not something to hide behind and once again be ridiculed for. I’m absolutely done with the shaming from other people and particularly myself.”
