*Comedian Jerrod Carmichael, who publicly came out last year, has been attempting to secure a date with Tyler, the Creator for years, but the rapper has consistently declined his invitations.

Carmichael revealed in the premiere episode of his new show, “Jerrod Carmichael Reality Show,” that the artist called him a “stupid bitch” after he confessed his feelings to Tyler in 2021. Carmichael also asked Tyler to be his date at the Emmy Awards, but he was turned down.

Although Carmichael harbors “unrequited” feelings for Tyler, the hip-hop star clarified during their conversation that he does not share the same sentiments for Carmichael.  According to Tyler, hearing Carmichael has feelings for him was “a lot to download.”

“Getting news like that and then avoiding it is a way to avoid change,” Tyler said. “I didn’t think brushing that off and continuing regularly would be such a dent. I don’t know.”

Meanwhile, as it relates to his new reality show, Carmichael said previously that he’s “trying to maintain being truthful on camera.”

HBO describes it as “a darkly funny documentary series about Jerrod’s tumultuous quest for love, sex, and truth.”

The “Jerrod Carmichael Reality Show” debuted on Max on March 29. Watch the trailer below.
