Unfamiliar Number Calling? Here’s How to Identify the Caller | Video | EURweb

*In an age where unknown numbers flood our phones incessantly, distinguishing between genuine calls and potential scams has become increasingly crucial.

Navigating the maze of unidentified callers can be daunting, but Komando.com unveils the strategies and tools to help you discern who’s calling when faced with unfamiliar numbers.

The outlet writes, “If you get a text from an unknown number, mobile payment apps like Venmo, CashApp, Zelle or PayPal can help you put a name to that number. Copy and paste the number into the app and the mystery sender’s name might just be unveiled.”

This trick seems only effective for individuals who have an account with one of those mobile payment applications. Within the application, the sender must use their real name and number.

You should also disable the feature in your mobile payment app that shares your name and phone number with others.

Meanwhile, “Dialing *67 conceals your number from someone you call,” per Komando. The article also notes that dialing *69 will trace “the number of the last person who called you” and even “even for anonymous or hidden calls,” the outlet writes.
