*Angela Bassett recently appeared on an episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and reacted to a video of Keke Palmer impersonating the actress.
“You know who loves you? Our pal Keke Palmer. We love Keke. She came on our show, and she did an impression of you,” said Fallon before playing the clip of Palmer impersonating Bassett as Katherine Jackson. The veteran actress portrayed the mother of the late King of Pop in the 1992 miniseries “The Jacksons: An American Dream.”
“That’s awesome,” Bassett replied to the clip.
“That’s my baby,” she added. “She requested me to be her mom in Akeelah and the Bee. So I was like so touched. I’m so proud of her.”

In related news, earlier this year, Palmer hinted that retirement was on the horizon. But the actress set the record straight in a new interview with PEOPLE.
“People took that literally, but I was thinking in like 20 years!” she said.
“But also, what I will say is I meant a different type of ‘slowing down.’ I think there’s a version of me that really wants to do more producing, that really wants to do more directing, that wants to do even more work, not only in front of the camera,” Palmer added.
“I’ll be still doing stuff, but I don’t know if I’m going to always want to be doing three movies a year,” she explained. “That’s amazing. Thank god I am doing that. But I don’t know if I always want to be doing it at that level or that way.”
Season 2 of Palmer’s game show “Password” premiered March 12 on NBC.
