*In a candid revelation, Dr. Dre has shed light on his recent health ordeal. The renowned music mogul and rapper, who encountered a harrowing brain aneurysm in 2021, disclosed that he endured three strokes in the aftermath of the alarming event. Whoa!
Reflecting on his experience during an episode of This Life of Mine with James Corden on SiriusXM, Dre, whose real name is Andre Romell Young, described the unpredictability of his health crisis, stating, “It’s just something that you can’t control that just happens, and during those two weeks, I had three strokes.”
The genesis of his concern for his well-being traces back to January 2021, when Dre awoke with discomfort in one of his ears. Initially dismissing it, he attempted to carry on with his day, only to be urged by his son’s friend to seek medical attention.
“I got up and I went on about my day, and I thought that I could just lay down and take a nap,” he recalled. “My son had a female friend that was there and was like, ‘No, we need to take you to the hospital.’”
Upon arriving at urgent care, Dre received sobering news about the severity of his condition. “Next thing you know, I’m blacking out,” recounted the 59-year-old. “I’m in and out of consciousness, and I ended up in the ICU. I was there for two weeks. I’m hearing the doctors coming in and saying, ‘You don’t know how lucky you are.’”
Expressing gratitude for the support from loved ones and fans during his recovery, Dre reassured his followers of his improving condition, emphasizing the quality care he received from medical professionals.
In the wake of this health scare, Dre has dedicated himself to maintaining his well-being through exercise, weightlifting, running, and diligent monitoring of his blood pressure to forestall any potential recurrences.
Reflecting on the ordeal, Dre emphasized a newfound appreciation for life, acknowledging the capricious nature of health challenges.
“It’s crazy, so now knowing that I had no control over that, it’s just something that could happen out of the blue. You wake up and you go, ‘S–t. OK, I’m here,’” he remarked during his appearance on This Life of Mine.
In other news about the good doctor, he’s set to receive his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame this coming week. The ceremony will take place on Tuesday, March 19. Media personality Big Boy will host the event, and Snoop will speak alongside Interscope Records co-founder Jimmy Iovine. Get more info here at EURweb.
