*Jodie Turner-Smith is speaking out about her divorce from “Dawson’s Creek” star Joshua Jackson.
“Sometimes things we really want to work just don’t end up working,” the British beauty, 37, told The Times. “And that’s OK. The most important thing is that you choose what’s healthiest for you and your family and definitely your children.”
Jodi and Joshua met at a party in 2018 and got engaged months later. They were married for four years before sparking breakup rumors in September 2022.
We reported earlier that Turner-Smith initially pulled the plug on the marriage, citing “irreconcilable differences.” The former couple share a 3-year-old daughter, Juno Rose Diana.
“I don’t think it’s a failure,” she told The Times of her marriage to Jackson. “We obviously had such a beautiful moment together. And now it’s time for a new moment for both of us. And how exciting!”
Turner-Smith was thinking of her daughter when she decided to end her marriage.
“The bravest thing in the world is to recognize when something’s not working and to make a move, and I always want to set that kind of example for my daughter,” she told The Times.
“The big takeaway is that this is about just as much love and joy as it has always been. This is only about taking a step forward into a better life for everybody involved.”
In March 2023, the “Queen & Slim” star shared with People, “I feel that to be fulfilled is being my best self for my child.”
“And I try to involve her in my life, not let work be this thing that exists outside of her, but that she also gets to be a part of. And so that she sees me being a working mother and being fulfilled and wanting to mother at the same time.”
