Special Grammys Concert to ‘Salute’ 50 Years of Hip Hop

*An upcoming Grammys special will honor hip-hop legends past and present.

The TV special titled “A Grammy Salute to 50 Years of Hip Hop” will be a star-studded tribute taking place Friday, Nov. 8, at YouTube Theater at Hollywood Park in Inglewood, California, CBS said in a press release.

The live concert will air on Sunday, Dec. 10, on CBS and Paramount+. 

Among the hip-hop stars set to take the stage are Black Thought, Bun B, Common, De La Soul, Jermaine Dupri, J.J. Fad, Talib Kweli, The Lady Of Rage, LL Cool J, MC Sha-Rock, Monie Love, The Pharcyde, Queen Latifah, Questlove, Rakim, Remy Ma, Uncle Luke, and Yo-Yo. More performers will be announced in the coming weeks, according to the release. 

The “A GRAMMY Salute To 50 Years Of Hip-Hop” live concert is open to the public. Tickets are on sale now on Ticketmaster.com.

Meanwhile, EUR was on hand this month for the Living Legends Foundation’s annual gala which celebrated 50 years of hip-hop. On October 6th, the foundation honored the unsung heroes making moves in music.

EUR’s L. Marie attended the event, held in Hollywood at the Taglyn Entertainment Complex, that recognized nine individuals who have impacted the culture. Some of the honorees included Rocky Bucano (executive director of the Universal Hip Hop Museum), Ed Lover (TV and radio personality), Nelson George (author, and filmmaker), Tracy Jordan (co-founder of Jordan/Lazin Productions), and more.
