*Chris Rock reportedly wants Jada Pinkett Smith to keep his name out of her mouth.
We reported previously via CNN that Pinkett Smith is promoting her new memoir titled “Worthy” and in it, she claims Chris Rock once asked her out on a date.
“Every summer all the reports would come out that me and Will were getting a divorce,” Pinkett Smith told People magazine. “And this particular summer, Chris [Rock], he thought that we were getting a divorce. So he called me and basically he was like, ‘I’d love to take you out.’”
Pinkett Smith added, “I was like, ‘What do you mean?’ He was like, ‘Well, aren’t you and Will getting a divorce?’ I was like, ‘No. Chris, those are just rumors,’” she recalled. “He was appalled. And he profusely apologized and that was that.”
According to Radar Online, the comedian is quite annoyed that the actress mentioned mentioned him in her book.
“Chris hates that she keeps bringing it up and bringing up the other revelations about Chris asking her on a date and all of that,” an insider said to Radar. “He is a relatively private person and was just getting to a point where people may have started to move on, but now it is back in the limelight, and it’s just frustrating that everything is coming back to the forefront.”
The tea-spiller added, “Chris is over it and would actually love for her to keep his name out of her damn mouth.”
Meanwhile, Jada also recently shared in a new interview that she was “hurt” by the jokes Rock made about her and Will in his “Selective Outrage” Netflix special.
We reported that Rock addressed the Oscar slap in the comedy special and made clear that he is “not a victim, baby; you’ll never see me on Oprah or Gayle, crying. You will never see it. Never gonna happen,” Rock said.
As PEOPLE reported, Rock joked that he got “smacked by Suge Smith.”
“I got smacked at the f—ing Oscars by this m—-f—er. And people are like, ‘Did it hurt?’ It still hurts!” said Rock.
He also took aim at Smith’s marriage by subtly mocking Jada’s “entanglement” with singer August Alsina.
Last June, Jada addressed the Oscars incident during an episode of her “Red Table Talk” show, saying her “deepest hope is that these two intelligent, capable men have an opportunity to heal, talk this out and reconcile.”
“With the state of the world today, we need ’em both, and we all actually need one another more than ever,” Pinkett-Smith added at the time. “Until then, Will and I are continuing to do what we have done for the last 28 years, and that’s [to] keep figuring out this thing called life together.”
