*Basketball legend. DJ. Rapper. Gladiator? Believe it or not, Shaquille O’Neal aka Shaq is a ‘Scandal’ fan and he is not ashamed of it. So much so that he admits to DM-ing his love of the hit show to Olivia Pope herself, Kerry Washington.
According to Ice Cream Conversations, O’Neal confessed to sliding into Washington’s DMs on “The Jennifer Hudson Show.” Once he got in, it was nothing but love between the two when Shaquans shared of much of a “Scandal” fan he is.
“First of all, I wasn’t DMing em… I’m a fan of hers, and we were talking about ‘Scandal,’” O’Neal told Hudson, who pressed the NBA vet on the news-making interaction. “First of all, I said, ‘God bless you, I’m proud of you, and I love your show.’ Cause I was watching ‘Scandal’… I wasn’t watching it when it was on, so I picked it up, and I was watching it, like, one, two, three, season seven.”
“And I’m a binge-watcher so I watched, like, seven seasons in, like, three days,” the Superman fan continued as he got in to exactly why he “jumped” into Washington’s DM’s.
“And then when it went off, I couldn’t find it, so I jumped in her DMs, like, ‘Hey, is ‘Scandal’ coming back on?’”
O’Neal’s confession follows Washington confirming the exchange on “Live With Andy Cohen.” When asked who the most famous person was to slide into her DM’s, the entertainer dropped O’Neal’s name, revealing his appreciation for “Scandal” and the jokes he made about the show’s plot.
