Jeannie Mai Breaks Silence After Jeezy Files for Divorce

*Jeannie Mai is breaking her silence after her husband, rapper Jeezy, filed for divorce last month.

“The Real” co-host hit up Instagram Wednesday to post a simple message that stated: “Sometimes, you need to take a break and disconnect, to heal.”

Jeezy filed for divorce in Atlanta, Georgia, on Sept. 14, after two-and-a-half years of marriage. As People reports, the filing says the marriage is “irretrievably broken” with “no hope for reconciliation.”

The estranged couple are “currently living in a bona fide state of separation,” per the legal docs.

Jeezy and Jeannie had a prenuptial agreement in place, People reports. The hip-hop star wants to share joint legal custody of their daughter.

The former couple married in March 2021 and welcomed their daughter Monaco the following year. We reported previously that insiders claim Jeannie Mai “wants her family unit back.”

“The truth is Jeannie wants her marriage to work, and wants her family to be one solid unit,” a source told Page Six. “She is devastated that Jeezy filed for divorce.”

The tea spiller said, “Even though Jeezy has filed, Jeannie is holding out hope that he would be willing to sit down and works things [out]. She is hoping for a resolution and wants to remain as a united family unit.”

One insider told ET that Jeezy and Jeannie’s opinions differed when it came to “certain family values and expectations.”

“They had different views, and each felt like their needs weren’t being completely met,” the source added.

According to others, Jeezy filed for divorce due to his wife’s anger issues.

“I didn’t notice that I had a hot temper until I got with Jeezy,” Jeannie said in a 2021 episode of the “Lovers and Friends” podcast, according to SandraRose.com.
