*A young chef in Milwaukee hosted a pop-up drive-thru in August where customers waited 2 hours to try her food.
“It made me feel happy and that people really enjoy my food,” Raquelle Boyd, 11, told tmj4.com.
Professionally known as Chef Kisses, Boyd spent hours in her mother’s kitchen “cooking fried chicken, collard greens, mac n cheese, cornbread and more,” tmj4.com writes.
Raquelle’s mom, Sarhena Boyd, said her daughter has been having fun in the kitchen since age 5 with her own play kitchen set. Watch the video report above.
“She’s been talking about Chef Kisses’ Place for a very long time,” Sarhena said. “So when she came up with this idea it was like hey why not, we do a lot of stuff as a family.”
Raquelle’s parents acted as her investors when she needed capital to get her culinary business off the ground. Now she’s a rising star in the community.
“This is something she has a passion about she don’t just talk about it, she’ll actually put the effort in,” dad Robert Boyd told tmj4.com.
“We sponsored the first one and she took literally— the second one everything that came from her menu to her balloons her flyers, she paid for all of it herself,” he added.
Chef Kisses is one step closer to owning her own restaurant, according to tmj4.com reports.
“I just wanted to cook and show everybody else how I cook,” she said.
