*Tory Lanez’s mugshot was released Wednesday after he was transferred to North Kern State Prison in Delano, Calif.

According to The Messenger, the rapper, 31, is expected to spend three to six months at the medium-security prison before being transferred to a long-term facility to serve the rest of his sentence for the 2020 shooting of Megan Thee Stallion.

The Candian-born artist was previously held at Los Angeles County Jail. His new home is said to be riddled with violent inmates, “as multiple murders have happened there just this year,” TMZ writes.

Last month, Lanez pleaded with the judge to go light on him before being given 10 years in prison.

“I am genuinely asking you to put me to the test,” he said during the hearing. “I respect your ruling, whatever it’s gonna be.”

Lanez shared a message on Instagram after his sentencing, in which he maintained his innocence and insisted he was wrongfully convicted. He made clear that he refuses “to apologize for something that I did not do.”

Per AP News, prosecutors sought a 13-year sentence for the musician (born Daystar Peterson) after being convicted of three felonies: assault with a semiautomatic firearm, having a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle, and discharging a firearm with gross negligence.

Megan testified during the trial that she was walking away from an SUV when Lanez shot at the back of her feet during an argument in the summer of 2020.

In a statement to the court prior to his sentencing, Megan said Lanez has shown no remorse since the incident and “blamed the system, blamed the press, and as of late has tried to take advantage of his childhood trauma.”
