Trailer Drops for ‘Quantum Leap’ Season 2

*The official trailer for “Quantum Leap” Season 2 has dropped and it teases new leaps to Egypt in 1961, Los Angeles Riots in 1992 Koreatown, a UFO investigation in 1949 New Mexico, witch trials in 1692 Massachusetts, per a news release.

The series stars Raymond Lee (“Dr. Ben Song”), Caitlin Bassett (“Addison Augustine”), Ernie Hudson (“Herbert ‘Magic’ Williams”), Mason Alexander Park (“Ian Wright”), Nanrisa Lee (“Jenn Chu”), along with newly added Season 2 series regulars Eliza Taylor (“Hannah Carson”) and Peter Gadiot (“Tom Westfall”).

As Entertainment Weekly reports, the leaps will be the primary focus this season.

“We want to take our incredible cast and give them the ability to do more, so for us closing the loop on the mythological questions, like ‘why did he leap?,’ lets us have the serialized elements be more in the emotional space in season 2 as opposed to the heavy plot space,” showrunner Martin Gero previously told EW

Gero also noted that “The show really lives or dies on the leaps.”

“The leaps in season 1 felt semi-planned because Ben was essentially trying to use celestial navigation to get where he needed to go. Now, he’s just lost, much like Sam Beckett was. The path he’s on is a lot more random or in the hands of whatever unknown force guides the Quantum Leap program,” he explained.

“There’s more opportunities going into season 2 for people to be in the imaging chamber more regularly. They all have various degrees of expertise and life experience that can lend Ben a hand when he’s in the past,” Gero told EW.” That was always the plan, but we wanted to focus on the Ben and Addison relationship in the early part of the show, and now that’s done. We can start to give air to more of these other characters as we flush them out.”

The second season premieres on Wednesday, October 4 at 8:00 p.m. on NBC, and will be available to stream the next day on Peacock. Watch the trailer via the YouTube clip above.
