Parents of Decapitated Baby Sue Doctor for Sharing Photos

*A Georgia couple has filed a new lawsuit against a doctor who shared gruesome photos and videos of their dead child on social media.

We reported previously via CNN that the baby’s mother, Jessica Ross, 20, alleges her baby was decapitated during delivery at a Georgia hospital in July. She filed a lawsuit last month against Dr. Tracey St. Julian, the hospital, and others involved in the delivery, according to legal filings.

The complaint filed in Georgia’s Clayton County alleges the Southern Regional Medical Center attempted to conceal the manner of death of the baby from the family. The baby, who was named after his father, Treveon Isaiah Taylor Sr., was delivered at full term, according to the family attorney.

As RadarOnline reports, the suit alleges that “in the process of trying to delivery this baby, [St. Julian] pulled on the baby’s head and neck so hard and manipulated them so hard that the bones in the baby’s skull, face and neck were broken.”

The parents learned about the decapitation from a funeral home employee days after it occurred, according to the couple.

According to Radar, Ross and Taylor have filed a separate lawsuit against Dr. Jackson Gates, whom they say they hired to conduct an independent autopsy after the child’s death. Gates is facing an invasion of privacy charge for posting videos and a photo of the baby on Instagram without the family’s permission.

Per the lawsuit, Gates posted material “showed in graphic and grisly detail a postmortem examination of the decapitated, severed head of Baby Isaiah.”

As RadarOnline reports, the complaint added, “The plaintiffs were informed about the posting of these videos on social media, resulting in the plaintiffs experiencing feelings of shock, anger, humiliation and outrage.”

“After suffering one of the most heartbreaking losses any family could ever endure, Jessica Ross and Treveon Isaiah Taylor, Jr. had salt poured into their unfathomable emotional wounds when they discovered that video of their baby’s very graphic medical examination had been made public by the very doctor they entrusted to conduct the autopsy,” attorneys for the couple said in a statement, according to Radar. “This is one of the most egregious and outrageous cases of ‘clout chasing’ we have ever encountered. Dr. Jackson Gates attempted to exploit our clients’ horrific loss to boost his own social media profile without permission of the family.”

Gates is being sued for intentional infliction of emotional distress, and fraud.
