Brie Larson and Aja Naomi King star in Apple TV+’s new limited series, Lessons in Chemistry, which had its trailer and premiere date unveiled by the streamer.
The series, which is executive produced by Larson, debuts on Apple TV+ on Oct. 13, is based on the best-selling book by author and science editor Bonnie Garmus.
Here’s the synopsis:
Set in the early 1950s, “Lessons in Chemistry” follows Elizabeth Zott (played by Larson), whose dream of being a scientist is put on hold in a patriarchal society. When Elizabeth finds herself fired from her lab, she accepts a job as a host on a TV cooking show, and sets out to teach a nation of overlooked housewives — and the men who are suddenly listening — a lot more than recipes.
The series also stars Lewis Pullman, Stephanie Koenig, Kevin Sussman, Patrick Walker and Thomas Mann.
Lessons in Chemistry is produced for Apple TV+ by Apple Studios. Lee Eisenberg serves as the showrunner with Susannah Grant executive producing alongside Larson, Michael Costigan, and Jason Bateman executive producing for Aggregate Films.
Sarah Adina Smith directs and executive produces the first two episodes. Natalie Sandy serves as an executive producer through Piece of Work Entertainment alongside Eisenberg, with Louise Shore also serving as executive producer.
