Inside Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship is a treasure hunt where guests will venture on a seven-day journey to find their favorite characters and stories from Disney, Pixar, Star Wars and Marvel.
The Disney Treasure is the sixth ship of the fleet and the sister ship to the Disney Wish. It’s the second of four ships Disney is launching through 2025 as a part of its incredible expansion. While the Disney Wish is considered the “Castle on the Sea,” the Disney Treasure has been dubbed “the Palace on the Sea.”
Guests will immediately notice the motif of adventure, which serves as the architectural and thematic foundation of the Disney Treasure. It’s a concept that also pays homage to Walt Disney’s legendary passion for travel and exploration. Helping to lead the way for the seven-day adventure and a whole new world are Princess Jasmine and Aladdin, as guests step into the Grand Hall.
A Whole New World: Magic Carpet Awes in the Grand Hall
Disney Cruise Line guests know the first awe inside the ship is the Grand Hall. Inside the Disney Treasure, Princess Jasmine and Aladdin will need guests to trust them because there’s a golden magic carpet inside. The magic carpet and genie lamp are the focal points inside The Grand Hall.
The Grand Hall’s ambiance features dark blue and golden hues reminiscent of the nighttime carpet ride from the 1994 animated film. As you look up in the Grand Hall, the area has shining bright stars in a nighttime sky.
A Disney First: Disney Theme Park Adventures Come to the High Seas
Disney is bringing the fun and excitement from its theme parks to the Disney Treasure Cruise.
Skipper Society is a themed lounge that will be located near the Grand Hall. Disney Parks’ Jungle Cruise inspires it. The venue has camp-style furnishings and references to Disney’s beloved attraction. There will be a whimsical money-shaped chandelier, luggage tags to pay homage to the love of travel and a canopy of jungle foliage. Guests can enjoy this space with themed cocktails, snacks and live entertainment.
Another venue to expect on board takes inspiration from Walt Disney’s 1954 film, “20,000 Leagues Under the Sea,” and the Disney Parks attraction it inspired. The ride was open to Walt Disney World park-goers from 1971 until 1994. While it’s permanently closed, Disney Treasure Guests will have the chance to experience the beloved attraction differently.
Periscope Pub will be a casual venue designed with a submarine-style interior. According to Disney, the space will feature 19th-century steampunk influences with polished metals. It’s an adult space that’s perfect for craft brews and snacks.
The Tomorrow Tower Suite is another tribute to Disney Parks. The suite is inspired by the forward-thinking mindset that has inspired the Walt Disney World theme park, EPCOT.
It’s located in the ship’s forward funnel and overlooks the ship’s top deck, along with a glimpse of the horizon through the expansive windows. The suite features futuristic designs and accents, embodying EPCOT’s World Discovery neighborhood.
Brand New Dining, Entertainment and Broadway-Style Shows
Two new dining experiences on board take inspiration from the worlds of Disney and Pixar. Disney says Plaza de Coco is the first theatrical dining experience themed to the Disney and Pixar film, “Coco.” Dining tables will surround the central stage, as guests enjoy Mexico’s vibrant culture through food and entertaining musical performances. There will be two different nights of unique dining experiences that guests will enjoy.
The first night will continue where the story of Miguel and his familia left off on screen as they come together in Mariachi Plaza to celebrate togetherness. On the second night, Miguel going to reunite with his great-great-grandparents in Santa Cecilia with the help of his magic guitar to a Día de los Muertos celebration.
Jumbeaux’s Sweets is a new dining experience inspired by the ice cream parlor Jumbeaux Café featured in Disney’s “Zootopia.” The parlor features Victorian-style architecture, playful pink interiors and what Disney describes as “endearing” sculptures of Officer Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde.
Disney Wish Fan Favorites Reimagined on Disney Treasure
Some of the spaces and venues guests loved on board the Disney Wish also appear on board the Disney Treasure. The restaurant 1923 is named after the founding year of Walt Disney Animation Studios. The upscale venue celebrates Disney’s animation legacy, while bringing Walt Disney’s love of adventure to life.
Worlds of Marvel is also a dining experience on board the Disney Treasure. This immersive and exciting dining experience celebrates beloved Avengers characters and their stories. Guests’ spidey senses may be at an all-time high. After all, there will be an interaction with the amazing Spider-Man.
Adult-exclusive dining locations also will return on the Disney Treasure. Guests can take a bite of gourmet meals from Palo Steakhouse, Enchanté by Chef Arnaud Lallement and The Rose. The Rose is an upscale lounge inspired by the elegant icons from “Beauty and the Beast.”
Other adult-exclusive spaces returning on the Disney Treasure are the Quiet Cove pool district, gourmet cafes, upscale lounges and more.
Dedicated Spaces for Kids
Infants, toddlers, children, tweens and teens have unique spaces to explore in Disney’s Oceaneer Club.
The Marvel Super Hero Academy is a high-tech Avengers headquarters where young “recruits” will train to be the next generation of superheroes. The future superheroes will have help from their favorite heroes, such as Spider-Man, Black Panther and Ant-Man. Fairytale Hall is a royal collection of activity rooms where princesses and princes will let their creativity shine at Rapunzel’s Art Studio, or read and act out stories at Belle’s Library.
Walt Disney Imagineering Lab allows kids to discover the secrets of the creative masterminds behind Disney theme parks, resorts and cruise ships. Children can expect hands-on activities and inventive experiments.
At Star Wars: Cargo Bay, children will step into a galaxy far away as they take on the role of creature handlers and learn to manage a collection of exotic beings.
