Unofficially, Labor Day marks the end of summer and the last chance for people to take full advantage of being outdoors before fall. Observed the first Monday in September, Labor Day is officially an annual celebration of American workers’ social and economic achievements that gives people an extra day off from work.
AAA predicts more people are traveling for Labor Day 2023 than in 2022, as agency data shows domestic bookings are up by 4%. According to AAA, the top five destinations are Seattle, Orlando, Anchorage, New York, and Las Vegas.
