*This weekend, The Grove in LA, hosted a Tiffany Haddish collaboration with AliExpress in a well-decorated, stand-alone experiential pop-up shop that consistently grew a line of adoring fans to meet the funny comedian and actress. Saturday, was the day to meet and greet the starlet and find out more about her list of curated items that she loves from AliExpress.
Positioned on a small table next to the entrance were a few items that any shopper would love to indulge including headphones, a massage gun, false lashes, and a curly wig on a silver mannequin head. Inside the pop-up boasts several other items from AliExpress – the go-to place for affordable fashion, tech, and lifestyle items.
Standing against a red wall of sequined backdrop is Tiffany Haddish in a yellow jumpsuit, complemented by her signature blonde haircut. I was on the scene to steal a quick chat with Haddish before the busy actress had to catch a helicopter flight to her next event.
After congratulating her on her recent movie that premiered the same day, Back on the Strip, Haddish asked if I had seen the film yet. I promised I’d be watching it soon. It was the next question-and-answer sequence that surprised me, though.
Is AliExpress how she maintains being frugal?
“This is how you create generational wealth. Don’t waste your money on stuff that’s gon’ break anyways,” she quickly shared.
As Haddish continues to walk off, she ventures back over to the table of her favorite items and playfully spins a gold raffle drum that sits up front and center.
“This is from AliExpress,” she said in that familiar “Tiffany Haddish” high-spirited kind of way. She continued, “yeah, I bought me one of these, and I donated it to a church, cause they’re big on playing bingo.”
Haddish is no stranger to opening up about finances and the benefits of saving money, so the partnership with AliExpress seems to come at a time where most shoppers would appreciate it.
