*Retired NBA star Paul Pierce recently revisited his 2021 firing from ESPN over a video he posted to IG Live.
The former sports commentator for the network spoke about the incident during his current appearance on the Fox TV show “Stars on Mars,” which features celebs having to endure conditions that simulate life on Mars.
Speaking to fellow cast member Lance Armstrong, the Boston Celtics vet revealed that he was playing poker at a birthday party where strippers were dancing. He stated that there was “a lot of alcohol” involved, and the video was posted to Instagram Live. He told Armstrong there were “girls shaking their asses,” which Armstrong didn’t initially understand to mean strippers.
The cyclist went on to question how the video appeared on social media. Pierce admitted that he was the one who posted the video to his Instagram account, saying: “I accidentally did, my dumb ass.”
Meanwhile, follow cast member Tinashe tried to downplay the video as not being that bad, but the singer laughs about the situation as Pierce explains that it was bad enough to get him fired.
They all laugh, as Pierce sees a silver lining to the experience.
“Maybe I wouldn’t be on Mars if that didn’t happen. See? Everything happens for a reason,” he said.
