*Bishop Lamor Whitehead and controversial YouTube personality Tasha K are embattled in a $360 million defamation lawsuit.
Bishop Whitehead is suing Tasha K, real name Latasha Kebe, for defamation, All Hip Hop reports. The flashy Brooklyn preacher announced the lawsuit in a video on his Instagram account in June.
“I just want y’all to know that the lawsuit has been filed, and everybody’s gonna know to stop playing with the bishop,” he said, SandraRose.com reports.
Whitehead also warned other bloggers to “Be very wary when you have my name in your mouth.” As SanrdraRose reports, he added, “You will have to pay. It’s my legal right to sue. So, yes, I have sued Tasha K.”
Earlier this year, Tasha K filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in Florida after losing a $4 million judgment to rapper Cardi B in a separate defamation case.
“I don’t care about none of that,” Whitehead said about that particular legal matter. “You gonna pay,” he added.
Here’s more from All Hip Hop:
Whitehead’s colossal lawsuit challenges six statements made by Tasha K in her May 2023 videos.
These include claims that Whitehead bought a $2 million mansion with only $10 in the bank, that he tried to use Tasha K to intimidate a witness in a criminal case, and had a church transfer its building to him, which he was later evicted from – an act that could be considered fraud.
Yelen Entertainment, which produces Tasha K’s YouTube show, noted that “reports of judicial proceedings and are immune from defamation claims,” per All Hip Hop.
Whitehead, meanwhile, is battling legal his own legal troubles after being charged with wire fraud and lying to the FBI. In April, he locked a congregation out of their Brooklyn church and faces a $5 million lawsuit in that case.
