*Kanye West’s 2020 presidential committee is facing accusations of “fraud and malfeasance,” a committee layer claims.
The executive committee for West’s 2020 presidential campaign filed an obstruction of justice complaint with the federal government, accusing the rapper’s personal lawyer and campaign manager of committing some pretty serious crimes, RadarOnline.com reports.
The outlet writes: “The fast-moving chain of events erupted Friday morning when someone allegedly “hacked” into the Federal Election Commission’s (FEC) website and removed Devin White as treasurer – just hours after RadarOnline.com published a story quoting him saying the campaign’s finances are rife with massive “fraud and malfeasance.” ”
In a complaint filed with the FBI and FEC, White and Fein accuse Kanye’s lawyer Bruce Marks and his associates of obstructing their investigation into campaign fiancé fraud.
“My God, it looked like a crime scene!” Committee attorney Bruce Fein told RadarOnline.com after reviewing campaign expenditures with treasurer Devin White. “I was truly stunned.”
“There appears to be fraud and malfeasance taking place in the campaign and at this point, Bruce Fein and I believe that from inception, this was a strawman created for other purposes versus a bonafide effort to run for president,” White told RadarOnline.com.
“If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, more than likely it’s a duck,” White added.
“They are changing (the FEC treasurer) because they are now the subject of a federal probe, so they are all scurrying away with the life preservers,” White told Radar.
“There is no way of covering it up — it was already in the news,” White added.
“We’ve already notified the FBI about the obstruction of justice – and they are furthering the obstruction of justice. It is completely illegal what they are doing,” White said.
People reported in May that when Patrick Krason, West’s former treasurer for his 2024 campaign for president, resigned, he alleged fraud on his way out.
In a letter obtained by Politico, Krason claimed that West’s campaign adviser Milo Yiannopoulos “submitted falsified invoices and for expenditures that would be deemed unlawful.”
Yiannopoulos disputed the allegations, telling the outlet he wouldn’t “give any credence or ridiculous, ridiculous and easily disproven claims.”
As Radar reports, Yiannopoulos and Kanye hired White when Krason resigned as treasurer after six months on the job.
