Tina Knowles Files For Divorce From Richard Lawson, Seemingly Responds To Internet Chatter About Her Comments On ‘Black Love’

It’s over between Tina Knowles and veteran actor Richard Lawson. But it’s the internet chatter after the divorce news broke that has Mama Tina popping back.  The latest inside.

After a gorgeous all-white yacht wedding back in April 2015, The Lawsons are calling it quits.  And it’s come as a surprise to most people since they seemed to be the epitome of black love and finding love later in life.

Eight years ago they were the picture of love, but now, Beyoncé & Solange’s mother has filed for divorce from Richard Lawson.

TMZ reports:

Tina beelined it to court Wednesday and filed for divorce … this according to new legal docs obtained by TMZ. She lists the date of separation as Tuesday, and Tina is rolling with the usual irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split. …

In the docs, Tina is asking the court to terminate the court’s ability to award spousal support to her or Richard.

Interesting.

While they don’t have any kids together, they’ve shared many years of memories and showcasing their love for anybody and everybody.  Their relationship seemingly gave hope to people who had been previously married finding the love of their lives later in life.

Tina once said she always had a fan-girl type of crush on the How Stella Got Her Groove Back star.  So it seemed it was meant to be.

Now, folks are digging up their MANY videos trying to point to what could have possibly gone wrong:

Ha.  Sounds like every older black couple we now, tbh.

And then there’s this, from their episode of OWN’s “Black Love” where Tina made it know Richard was not perfect:

Tina’s response:

And then there’s this:

Folks now think the “Black Love” show is a curse for black couples, since at least 4 of them are now divorced.

By the way, Tina’s home safe was recently robbed of $1 million. The L.A. Times revealed:

The theft at the Hollywood Hills home was discovered last week by a worker, according to the law enforcement source. The 69-year-old entrepreneur was out of town when the burglary occurred.

Exactly how and when the thieves entered the home isn’t clear, but they were able to remove the safe and its contents, according to Los Angeles police. Burglary crews targeting celebrity homes have been known to slide entire safes out through patio doors and even push them off balconies.

Investigators are examining security camera footage from the home and neighboring properties. In April, a man was arrested after damaging Knowles-Lawson’s mailbox.

A law enforcement source who was not authorized to discuss the investigation said the theft was likely not random and the burglars presumably had information from someone who knew of the high-value items on the premises and the existence of the safe.

The internet is wild claiming Richard had something to do with it.  Ha!
