‘Insecure’ Fans Can Now Stream Entire Series on Netflix

HBO's INSECURE

*Issa Rae’s hit comedy-drama “Insecure” is now streaming on Netflix.

According to Deadline, Netflix’s deal with HBO will also see “Band of Brothers,” “The Pacific,” “Six Feet Under” and “Ballers” launching on the platform.

“Insecure” fans can relive all five seasons on Netflix, starring Rae, Jay Ellis, Natasha Rothwell, and Amanda Seales. During its 5 season run, the show earned 14 Emmy nominations and won in 2020 for Outstanding Single-Camera Picture Editing For A Comedy Series. The series finale aired in December 2021.

We reported previously that Jay Ellis would be down to return to the show if a reboot was planned in the future.

Speaking with E! News during the African American Film Critics Association Awards on the red carpet in March, Ellis said, “One hundred percent. I think with a little bit of time. These characters — we saw a lot of life, we saw a lot of growth. I think they need to live a little bit.” However, the actor’s opinion isn’t final, as he mentioned that Issa Rae, the show’s creator, has the biggest say on its future.

Ellis continued, “You gotta ask Issa, man. She can give you that answer. If I tell you yes, then she’s going to call me tomorrow and I’m going to be in a lot of trouble.”

Issa Rae was previously asked about the possibility of an “Insecure” spinoff; she coyly explained, “There’s a chance for everything.”

As Urban Hollywood 411 reports, “Insecure” fans took to social media to express excitement of the show landing at Netflix.

“This show gonna have a whole new life!” one person tweeted.

“Whuuuuuuttt????? Yessss baby!!!” another person responded.

“I guess I know what I’m rewatching for the 100th time,” someone else shared.

“Definitely rewatching/binging,” another person commented..
