Amidst conflicting reports about Jamie Foxx’s current state, fans anxiously await updates on the beloved actor’s well-being. Recently, John Boyega reassured the public that his co-star is “doing good.” However, a conflicting source reveals a different side of the story, stating that Jamie is “still not himself.” More inside…
Recent reports indicate that Jamie Foxx is still on the path to recovery, with sources suggesting that he is “still not himself” following John Boyega’s previous statement that the actor is “doing good.”
Jamie Foxx’s ongoing recovery journey following a medical complication in April continues to be a topic of concern. According to a source, the actor is still not feeling like his usual self, despite receiving top-notch care and putting in significant efforts to regain his health.
“He is getting the best care and working hard to recover right now, but he is still not himself,” a source told PEOPLE. “He has the tightest circle around him,” the source added.
The source emphasized that Jamie’s inner circle remains incredibly private about his health situation, maintaining a tight-knit support system around the 55-year-old star. While details about the nature of his medical complications remain undisclosed, the update suggests that Jamie’s recovery process has been arduous and challenging.
The new health update comes on the heels of John Boyega telling the public that Jamie is “doing good.” During the Los Angeles premiere of their film, They Cloned Tyrone, John, Jamie’s co-star, provided an update on the actor’s well-being, sharing that he had recently engaged in a phone conversation with the “Beat Shazam” host.
“He finally picked up the phone. Thank you, bro,” John told PEOPLE. “He’s doing well. And then, you know, we just giving him the privacy, and we can’t wait for his return.”
In a recent interview with “EXTRA,” John was asked how Jamie is doing, and he responded, “We actually spoke yesterday. He cool. He all good, it’s all good.”
Sharing a similar sentiment to the British actor, Datari Turner, who co-produced Ray alongside Jamie, echoed the positive updates regarding Jamie’s well-being.
“He’s doing amazing. I promise you. Doing really, really good,” he said. “[Director] Juel [Taylor] talked to him yesterday. John Boyega talked to him yesterday. He’s in really, really good shape and spirits. And he’ll be back on the screen. He’ll be back to work very soon.”
While Jamie has reportedly spoken to several people involved with his new film, one person he hasn’t spoken to is his ex-girlfriend, Katie Holmes.
According to sources, Katie, 44, remains unaware of the details surrounding the events that unfolded while her former partner was filming the Netflix action comedy Back in Action in Atlanta.
“Katie is worried sick about Jamie,” a source confided to RadarOnline.com. “She and Jamie didn’t end on the best of terms. But regardless, she is very concerned.”
The insider added: “Katie is desperate to find out more details but a lot of her calls to their mutual friends are going answered. No one knows what is going on.”
On April 12, Jamie’s daughter, Corinne Foxx, 29, took to Instagram to inform fans that her father had been hospitalized but was now in the process of recovery. The incident occurred the previous day while he was filming the Netflix movie Back in Action alongside Cameron Diaz.
On May 3, Jamie himself (or someone in his camp) took to his Instagram page, expressing gratitude for the overwhelming love and support he received during his health journey.
The message from Jamie read, “Appreciate all the love!!! Feeling blessed.”
To address the swirling rumors about Jamie’s health, Corinne released a second statement on her Instagram Story on May 12. She clarified that her father had been out of the hospital for weeks and was in the recuperation phase.
In fact, she even shared a report that contradicted the rumors of a deteriorating condition, stating that the family was preparing for the worst. Corinne further added that her dad was active and playing pickleball the day before, expressing gratitude for the prayers and support they had received. Additionally, she teased an exciting work announcement that would be made the following week.
Since then, Jamie’s family has not provided any further updates regarding his recovery, leaving fans eagerly awaiting news about the beloved actor’s progress.
At the LA premiere of They Cloned Tyrone, Jamie’s castmates David Alan Grier, Teyonah Parris, and Tamberla Perry sent well wishes for the actor’s recovery. Watch below:
