From an epic engagement to divorce court!
The sunny shores of Palm Beach, Florida have become the battleground for a high-stakes legal showdown. Former New York Jets player Marcus Gilchrist and his estranged wife, Nicole Gilchrist, are heading for a divorce after the ex-NFL star decided to file paperwork in family court to officially call it quits.
We’ve seen the divorce filing, and talk about a legal bombshell! On November 18, 2022, Marcus made his move by filing a family – marriage dissolution/divorce lawsuit against Nicole. According to the paperwork filed in Palm Beach County, Judge Laura C. Burkhart is stepping up to preside over the case.

As of the time of this post, the case is pending. The burning question on everyone’s minds remains unanswered: What caused this once-power couple to crumble, and what secrets lie beneath the surface? Only time will tell. No word what caused the split or how child support and spousal support will come into play, if at all.
The couple share four children together, including daughters Sophia & Skylar, and sons Kobe & Kyrie.
The couple welcomed their fourth child last year:
In 2016…
The former Jets player took engagements to a whole new level when he pulled off the perfect proposal during Beyonce’s final FORMATION World Tour concert at MetLife Stadium (where the Jets play) in New Jersey. After the show, he jetted to the locker room to ask his woman for her hand in marriage. He had it all planned out too. The NFLer stood inside of a heart of rose petals as Nicole surprisingly walked in. She joined him inside the heart and he got down on one knee to ask her to marry him. Of course she said YES! And the proposal went viral.
Two years later, they tied the knot at the Vizcaya Museum & Gardens in Miami. Watch below:
While Nicole is pretty active on social media, Marcus seems to have either erased or deactivated his social media accounts.
As for his NFL career, Marcus, 34, last played for the Baltimore Ravens. The 2011 second-round pick signed a four-year, $22 million contract with the Jets in 2015 after four years with the Chargers. From there, he played for the Jets, Texans, Raiders, Lions and Jaguars.
We wish both Marcus and Nicole the best during their next phase in life.
