*A Missouri woman took matters into her own hands when she chased down her sister’s stolen car and shot the passengers before the vehicle caught fire.
Francesca Jones, 32, is now facing three counts of first-degree assault, three counts of armed criminal action, and three counts of endangering the welfare of a child, KSDK reports.
Jones was driving in a St. Louis suburb when she spotted her sister’s Dodge Challenger. The car had been stolen the day before so Jones, who was with three children, pursued the vehicle. The wild chase ended when the Challenger crashed into a truck and caught on fire.
According to police, Jones shot the two occupants as they tried to escape. One of them fired back at her, authorities said the New York Post reports.
After police arrived at the scene, they found Jones’ gun inside a purse in the trunk of her car. She was subsequently arrested and is being held on a $750,000 cash-only bond.
Jones allegedly told investigators she wanted to stop the car by ramming into it.
There is no information on whether the two Challenger passengers have been arrested for stealing the car. It’s also unclear what condition the two gunshot victims are in.
