Here’s the Real Reason Flau’Jae Johnson Wasn’t Featured in Latto’s ‘Put It On Da Floor Again’ Video

Find out why rising star Flau’jae Johnson felt like she was snubbed for the music video for Latto and Cardi B’s hit collab, “Put It On Da Floor Again.” Curious to know what led to her omission and the surprising twist behind her teammate’s appearance? Find out inside…

“Put It On Da Floor Again,” the scorching remix collaboration between Latto and Cardi B, has been blazing up the charts for the past month. The track made its grand entrance on the Billboard Hot 100, skyrocketing to the impressive #13 spot. This marks Latto’s highest-charting single since her smash hit “Big Energy” in 2021, which peaked at an impressive #3.

However, amidst the song’s success, college basketball star and talented rapper Flau’jae Johnson found herself wondering why she didn’t make a cameo in the sizzling music video for “Put It On Da Floor Again,” especially since her LSU teammate Angel Reese did. Cardi even gave a shout-out to LSU in her verse.

In an interview with Baller Alert, the freshman LSU star opened up about her absence from the video. While she was happy to see her teammate Angel teaming up with Latto, she couldn’t help but question why she was left out, especially since she’s a rapper.

“Angel loves being in videos,” Flau’jae shared. “She’s the cute girl, that’s her thing. Latto reached out to me about it the day before and said, ‘I want you to be in the video.’ I replied, ‘I’m in L.A. right now, but yeah, we can make it happen.’ We didn’t made it happen. Her people never hit my people or whatever.”

Flau’jae, who starred in Season 3 of Jermaine Dupri’s “The Rap Game,” couldn’t shake the feeling that Latto didn’t genuinely want her in the video. She suggested that Latto might have felt obliged to offer a cameo due to their shared history on the Rap Game reality show.

“I seen she had asked Angel like a week before,” she said. “And I was like ‘OK, maybe she ain’t really want me in the video for real, but she had to ask me because we kinda had a relationship before and she put Angel in it.’ I didn’t really care because Angel was in it and that was a big moment for women’s basketball. And at the same time, why wouldn’t you put me in it? It just made sense. I did the remix. It went viral. I’m a rapper. I go to LSU. We got Rap Game history. So, that situation, I felt like it was a little weird.”

Despite not making it in the visuals, Flau’jae isn’t stressing over it.

“I ain’t tripping off it because it shed light on women’s basketball,” she continued. “That really just bridged the gap in the culture. It made women’s basketball and LSU women’s basketball go to another level.”
