Short Films Made by Youth and for Youth Still Being Accepted for ILIC Film Fest September 23 – October 1, 2023, at FilmFreeway.com
*The U.S. leads in countries that have submitted to the 7th annual Imagination Lunchbox International Children’s Film Fest to be held September 23 – October 1, 2023, at various places in Baltimore and online via Zoom. Running a close second is the United Kingdom, followed by Canada and Japan with the Netherlands and Switzerland with the lowest number of films submitted. Short films made by youth and for youth from around the world are still being submitted via FilmFreeway.com. Awards will consist of “Best Film By Youth,” “Best Film For Youth,” “Film Fest Choice” and “Most Uplifting.” The absolute deadline to submit films is July 31st.
The film festival will start Saturday, September 23rd with a public screening and awarding online powered by Zoom at www.ImaginationLunchbox.com starting at 1pmEST; the “ILICFF/Eubie Blake Filmmaking Workshops for Youth” will be held Saturday, September 30th from 12 – 3pmEST at the Eubie Blake Center (847 N. Howard Street, 21201) and is presented in part by Wesby One Productions (WesbyOne.com) and Battlestage Plays (BattleStagePlays.com), and two Basketball Tournament fundraisers will be held Sunday, September 25th (high school level) and Sunday Oct 1st (college level) at Druid Hill Park Courts in Baltimore hosted by ILICFF founder Anthony Michael Hobbs (www.Anthony-Michael.com).
The “Imagination Lunchbox International Children’s Film Fest” was created in 2016 by Hobbs to give young filmmakers, like him, a platform to showcase their films and view other creative projects made for a young audience. Anthony has garnered over 20 awards for writing, starring in, directing and producing multi-award-winning short films, such as One Nation, and Naga Pixie. He has also produced short films through his company Imagination Lunchbox, LLC for others, such as Agent Hollywood – another multi-award-winning film.
Filmmakers and attendees rave about ILICFF, such as Alan Chriest who posted at FilmFreeway.com, where submissions are accepted, in 2021, “Simply the best festival ever!”
“Super impressed with them and love that they have kid judges,” said filmmaker Nicole Rose in 2020.
Charlotte McLaverty stated in 2019, “Such a friendly creative film festival. It was a wonderful experience.”
Last year’s winners were from the U. S., Australia, and Korea. Four awards will be given out at ILICFF – “Most Uplifting Film” sponsored by the Uplifting Minds II Entertainment Conference;” “Best Film Made FOR Kids; “Film Festival Choice,” and “Best Film Made BY Kids.”
