Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts explains how he became the leading man in Teyana Taylor’s commercial, which promoted the launch of her signature “Jordan 1” sneakers. Find out how the collaboration came about inside…
Teyana Taylor has teamed up with the Jordan brand to unveil her signature “Jordan 1” sneakers, with the support of Philadelphia Eagles superstar quarterback Jalen Hurts, in an exciting collaboration that promises to take sneaker enthusiasts by storm.
The Eagles QB and the singer-songwriter joined forces to star in “A Rose From Harlem”, a short film highlighting her newly launched Air Jordan 1 Zoom Comfort 2 sneaker.
The highly anticipated promotional campaign was produced by Tey’s Aunties Production company, and the “Gonna Love Me” singer (also known as Spike Tey) directed.
Teyana launched a Hip Hop Cinderella campaign set in Harlem, New York, to showcase her exclusive “Rose in Harlem” Jordan 1 sneakers.
The campaign includes a short film featuring DJ Khaled as her fairy tale Godfather, the charming Jalen Hurts, and appearances from Remy Ma, Maino, Fabolous, Lola Brooke, and even Teyana’s own daughters, Junie and Rue Rose, portraying her younger self. Teyana herself penned a heartfelt caption accompanying the campaign.
“Dreams and fairytales are more realistic than the mind perceives it be,” she wrote. “A tangible dream is simply a non-fictional fairytale. As a dreamer, I was often afraid to join life’s magic on the dance floor until I truly started believing myself. Growing up, I was not the typical girl or kid for that matter. I knew life had more to offer. This sneaker represents not only my story, but it represents everyone who has a dream. Be brave enough to be different, and allow life and TIME to Evolve You.”
“This is my love letter to Harlem and all of the dreamers around the world. Thank you to the village that helped tell the story of a dreamer that bloomed from the concrete with this beautiful cinematic commercial/mini movie & this beautiful sneaker.”

During a recent press conference, the 24-year-old NFL QB, who recently signed a historic $255 million contract, opened up about his recent venture into the world of commercials and short films. He shared how the opportunity came about, revealing that it was Teyana herself who reached out to him.
“She reached out to me,” he said. “She reached out to me and said she had an opportunity for me. She said I was the perfect fit for it, so I really appreciated that. And we kinda went from there. You know, the neighborhood mailman in the little video. It was a fun experience. I’m glad I got to try it.”
