Almost 20 minutes away from the South Rim is one of the most unique and stunning places you can stay during your next vacation at the Grand Canyon. Founded in 2020, Clear Sky Resorts is the first and only lodging experience of its kind. It’s a luxury glamping adventure in Arizona that takes place from a geodesic sky dome.
As guests make their way through picturesque rock paths, they will immediately notice how the luxe private domes allow people to create a real connection with nature.
Themed Sky Domes For Everyone
With approximately 45 domes with individual themes, there’s a dome for every traveler. If you want a romantic getaway, you can choose a sky dome for two. If you’re planning a family trip, a vacation with the guys or the ultimate girls’ getaway, you can book a dome for seven.
The Grand Canyon Standard Sky Dome comes with one queen bed and is able to accommodate two people. The dome features large panoramic windows and a homemade log bed set. The Grand Canyon XL Sky Dome accommodates five people, and it comes with one queen bed in the main room and another queen bed with a twin bed in the loft.
However, the best rooms on the property come with a theme. The Space Galaxy Sky Dome is a suite that accommodates seven. As you walk inside, prepare to be transported to a galaxy far away from Earth. The dome has deep shades of blue and purple reminiscent of outer space. The space pod bunk beds and oversized round galaxy beds are out of this world.
The Pink Unicorns and Rainbows Themed Sky Dome captures an ultimate unicorn fantasy. When you step inside, you are greeted with beautiful hues of pink and walls decorated with unicorns and vibrant rainbows.
The fluffy heartshaped pillows are a final touch that creates a dreamy vibe for a dome that accommodates five people.
Sky Dome Amenities
Beyond star gazing, guests will have access to various amenities and activities on the property. There’s a stunning and innovative Welcome Dome. The Welcome Dome features a 1000 square foot panoramic window and swinging chairs from the 26-foot ceiling.
There’s a food truck on site that serves both breakfast and dinner. Guests will have access to s’mores next to the resort’s artisan-crafted fire pit. There’s a golf course, giant jump pillows and a playground for families traveling with children. Other activities include sunrise yoga in the morning and live music in the afternoon. Some of the learning opportunities include Native American storytelling and flute-making. For more chill evenings, the resort offers movie nights in the resort’s projection dome and glow-in-the-dark frisbee golf.
Every sky dome is equipped with climate-controlled air conditioning and heat. There are privacy curtains, luxury linens, plush towels and a modern private bathroom with a rain shower to create the ultimate luxe glamping experience.
There are also activities off-site. Some of them include Kaibab National Forest, Raptor Ranch, hiking and biking trails, ziplining and horseback riding.
Prices for the sky domes range between $350 and $550 per night. Resort staff recommends a two-night stay to enjoy the Grand Canyon and other surrounding activities.
