The highly anticipated Roots Picnic is making a grand comeback in 2023, expanding into a three-day extravaganza. The festivities will commence this weekend, with an electrifying comedy show and concert featuring the iconic Dave Chappelle and the Roots at the Wells Fargo Center. The following two days will be filled with an array of captivating performances held at Fairmount Park.
With an expected attendance of nearly 50,000 music enthusiasts throughout the weekend, staying informed about Roots Picnic is essential. Whether you plan to join the festivities or navigate around road closures, here’s everything you need to know.
Festival Hours, Schedule, And Insider Tips
Roots Picnic will take place from June 2 to 4. The opening night on Friday will showcase Dave Chappelle’s cell phone-free performance at Wells Fargo Center, starting at 7:30 p.m. The musical revelry will captivate Fairmount Park’s Mann Center on Saturday and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 11 p.m., regardless of weather conditions.

Staying hydrated and carrying a portable phone charger or renting one from the designated kiosks near the entrance is crucial. Rest assured, the sound quality at the Mann will be exceptional, with the TD Pavilion boasting excellent acoustics.
