*LL Cool J is reprising his role as Sam Hanna on “NCIS,” and he made a cameo on the Season 2 finale of “NCIS: Hawai’i” on Monday night.

The hip-hop icon will join the series as a recurring guest star in the third season, Variety reports. LL led the “NCIS” spinoff show, “NCIS: Los Angeles,” which ran for 14 seasons and concluded on Sunday night.

Earlier this year, CBS announced that “NCIS: Los Angeles” would be ending this spring. The series, which stars Chris O’Donnell and LL Cool J, centers on the high-stakes world of the Office of Special Projects (OSP) in Los Angeles and also features Daniela Ruah, Eric Christian Olsen, Linda Hunt, Medalion Rahimi, Caleb Castille, and Gerald McRaney.

“Our crew has grown to be a true family, and their hard work and dedication has been fundamental to our success year after year,” Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment, said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter in January. “My deepest gratitude to the cast members, who have brought our characters to life with their impassioned performances — thank you for your talent, professionalism, and continuous enthusiasm. And to our loyal viewers who loved our characters and followed their journeys, thank you. We look forward to delivering an end to the series that is both satisfying and does justice to these beloved characters.”

LL Cool J also hit up Instagram at the time to react to the cancelation and thank his fans for supporting the show over the years.

“After 14 seasons, this is the perfect time to end @ncisla on top of our game!!! I look forward to continuing my fruitful partnership with @cbstv,” he captioned the post. “More exciting announcements and dates ahead!!!”

LL’s Hanna character assists the Hawai’i team in the finale episode of “NCIS: Hawai’i” after his trek in Morocco, which viewers saw in the finale of “NCIS: LA,” per Variety.

“All of us at ‘NCIS: Hawai’i’ have been huge fans of LL Cool J for years and couldn’t be more thrilled or honored to be adding his spectacular talent to our ohana for season three,” said executive producers Matt Bosack, Jan Nash and Christopher Silber.
