*Actors Harrison Ford and Mads Mikkelsen are speaking out about what fans can expect from the forthcoming “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.”

Ford returns to the role of the legendary hero archaeologist for this final installment of the iconic franchise, per the official synopsis.

“There were a lot of old jokes in the script,” Ford tells The Hollywood Reporter in a new interview. “We took them all out.”

Ford continued, “There is a moment where he observes himself in this situation and says, ‘What the f— am I doing in here?’ But I hate what I call ‘talking about the story.’ I want to see circumstances in which the audience gets a chance to experience the story, not to be led through the nose with highlights pointed out to them. I’d rather create behavior that is the joke of age rather than talk about it.”

Directed by James Mangold, “Dial of Destiny” includes flashback sequences in which de-aging technology is used to make Ford appear as his younger self

“I never loved the idea until I saw how it was accomplished in this case — which is very different than the way it’s been done in other films I’ve seen,” Ford said of the technology. “They’ve got every frame of film, either printed or unprinted, of me during 40 years of working with Lucasfilm on various stuff. I can act the scene and they sort through with AI every fucking foot of film to find me in that same angle and light. It’s bizarre, and it works, and it is my face.”

Mads Mikkelsen plays the villain in the film, which is especially magical for the Danish actor as the grew up watching Indiana Jones movies.

“When I was a kid, I had no idea that you could end up becoming an actor. I was just watching [these films] like everybody else. It’s always been part of me; it’s been with me always,” Mikkelsen told EW, adding, “so that is a special thing to be part of now, like 40-something years later.”

Mikkelsen continued, “I met Indiana Jones before I met Harrison Ford, because he stepped out of his trailer after he had a costume fitting. And he stepped out with the hat, the jacket, and the whip, which was fun.”

In “Dial of Destiny,” Mikkelsen plays former Nazi turned scientist and mathematician Jürgen Voller.

“I think the passion for what he does and passion for what he’s looking for, without giving too much away, and the passion for him knowing that this can make the world a better place — all that I can identify with,” said Mikkelsen of Voller. “[But] what does a better place look like? This is where it gets tricky.”

“Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny” hits theaters June 30.
